Using Guru in languages other than English

Access Required
Admin access is required to adjust Custom Prompts for AI Assist.
Admin or Knowledge Agent Owner permissions are required to adjust Custom Prompts for Knowledge Agents.
Customizing AI Assist behavior
AI Assist can be configured to respond in different tones and languages using Custom Prompts.
Editing AI Assist prompts
- Define language and tone: Add instructions like “Respond in Spanish” or “Use a professional tone.”
Note
Avoid prompts that request unsupported languages or tones not reflected in your Guru content. This can lead to the message: "No Direct Answer Was Found."
Updating Chrome browser language preferences
Guru does not control browser language settings, but Chrome’s configuration may impact how content is displayed in Guru. These settings are especially useful for users who want to personalize the browser interface or auto-translate content.
To adjust Chrome language settings:
- Go to
chrome://settings/languages
. - Reorder your preferred language list.
- Enable or disable translation features as needed.
Understanding other language factors
Enterprise Search
- Language alignment: Search queries should match the language of the indexed content.
- If you'd prefer that the Answer is always in a specified language, you can adjust the Knowledge Agent Custom Prompt to include a line such as "Always respond in German."
