Connecting Guru's MCP Server to Intercom

Connecting Intercom

1. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Data connectors
2. Click on the Custom MCP tile
3. A modal will appear where you'll need to enter:
   • Name: A descriptive name for this connection (e.g., "Guru MCP").
   • URL: The base URL of the MCP server (e.g., https://mcp.api.getguru.com/mcp).
4. Select OAuth
5. Click Add MCP Server - this will bring up an authorization screen in Guru where you'll need to grant permissions
6. Once authorized, the custom MCP server will be listed in your data connectors

Adding tools from Guru's MCP server

Once the MCP server is connected, you need to tell Fin which specific functions from Guru it can use

1. Find your newly connected MCP server in the list
2. Click the + New button located under that server's section
3. A modal will appear listing all the available tools provided by Guru's MCP server
4. Click on the tool you want Fin to use (e.g., "Guru Answer Generation")
5. The tool will now be added as a Data connector under that MCP server's section

Start using Guru in your workflow

Once you're connected, your AI tool can:

• Ask questions about your internal documentation
• Search for specific topics across your knowledge base
• Integrate Guru's AI capabilities into your development or writing workflows
