Using Guru's Email Add-Ins

Guru's Email Add-Ins enhance your email applications by integrating your team's knowledge directly into your inbox. This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to set up and use Guru's Email Add-Ins for both Gmail and Outlook.

Installing Guru for Outlook

Outlook Web App

  1. Sign in at Outlook.com.
  2. In the left-hand toolbar, click on "More apps", then "Add apps" to access add-ins.
  3. Type "Guru" in the search bar on the Apps page and select Guru for Outlook.
  4. Click "Add" to install the Guru app.
  5. Once installed, the green Guru button will appear while composing or replying to an email; click it to open the Guru add-in.
  6. Log in using your existing Guru credentials. 

Outlook Desktop App

  1. From the menu, select 'Tools' and then "Get Add-ins" to open the add-ins menu.
  2. Search for "Guru" and select Guru for Outlook.
  3. Click the "Add" button to install Guru.
  4. Continue to agree to the license terms and privacy policy by clicking 'Continue'.
  5. After installation, click the Guru button, log in, and verify your account using the provided code.

Installing Guru for Gmail

Individual Installation

  1. Visit Guru's listing in the Google Workspace Marketplace.
  2. Click the "install" button and follow the setup prompts.
  3. After installation, reload your Gmail page and locate the Guru button on the right-hand side toolbar.
  4. Log in or sign up following the setup prompts in the add-on.

Google Workspace Admin Bulk Install

  1. From your Google Workspace Admin console home page, navigate to Apps > Marketplace Apps.
  2. Search for and select Guru's marketplace app.
  3. At the top right of the page, click "Edit Service".
  4. Choose to enable the Add-on for all members of your organization or just for specific users by clicking 'On for everyone' or setting it for specific Google Workspace organizational units.
