Setting up Linear as a Source

Connecting Linear as a source in Guru enables teams to sync issues, project updates, and engineering workflows directly into Guru, ensuring that product and development knowledge stays current and easily accessible across teams.

Access Required

Guru Access: You need to be an Admin, Source Creator, or relevant custom role to set up Sources

Linear Access: You need Linear Admin credentials to connect Linear as a source.

Setting Up Linear as a Source

  1. Navigate to Manage > Sources.
  2. Select Linear from the icon menu.
  3. Click Authorize Access and **Use my Credentials (recommended)**and click Next.
  4. Review objects synched and click Next.
  5. Use the Date filter to select the date from which you'd like to sync data. Add additional filters if desired.
  6. Follow the prompts to login to your Linear account and Authorize.
  7. Follow the next and finish prompts to advance and complete the set up.
  8. Once you've finished connecting, you can Add a display name for this Source, followed by Connect.
  9. The next screen will allow you to set Permissions for the source in Guru.

  • If someone is not provided with access in Guru to this source, they will not see Linear results in searches or when chatting with Guru.
