Canceling your GetGuru Subscription
If you're considering canceling your Guru subscription, here are a few things to know.
Note
Please be sure you intend to cancel your services with our knowledge management software solution. We're often confused for other platforms with similar names. We are NOT Guru.com, Number Guru, (numberguru.com), or PDF Guru (PDFguru.com).
Access Required
Only Guru admins can cancel the entire Guru workspace. If you'd like to be removed as a user on a Guru workspace, contact the workspace admin. Not sure who the admin is? Navigate to Manage and click the Users and Groups > Admins tab.
While the Guru Terms of Service are accessible on our website, we like to manage our cancellations with a human touch. **As such, you’ll need to request to cancel by reaching out to our team with this form: Contact Guru Support.
Please follow the instructions below, based on your situation. Workspaces with an active, paid subscription will be asked to complete a very short survey. The cancellation process should be completed quickly provided your account information and balance are in order.
For workspaces created by accident

Created a new Guru workspace instead of joining your organization? Please reach out to our team by completing this form: Contact Guru Support.

To make sure you join the right workspace when signing up for Guru, contact your workspace admin and ask them to follow the directions found in Inviting users.
For workspaces currently in a free trial
- If you see the "# trial days left" message at the bottom left-hand corner of Guru's web app, please reach out to our team by completing this form: Contact Guru Support.. Our team will follow up as soon as the cancellation is processed.
For workspaces with an active subscription (no longer in a trial)
- If you don't see the "# trial day left" message at the bottom left-hand corner of Guru's web app, please reach out to our team by completing this form: Contact Guru Support. Please provide your email address and company name. You will then be asked to complete a short survey. Our team will follow up as soon as the cancellation is processed.
- See our Terms of Service for more on how early you need to notify our team in writing of your intent to cancel. Generally, this is done at least 30 days prior to renewal.
What happens after you cancel my team's workspace?
Once you get confirmation that your Guru workspace has been deleted, you and your teammates will no longer be able to access Guru. Per our Terms of Service, Guru keeps your workspace's data for 90 days post-cancellation. This 90-day period allows a buffer period if you decide to reactivate your Guru workspace. Guru cannot recover your team's data once deleted after the 90-day period.
Here are a few steps to follow to ensure a smooth offboarding:
- To export your content before losing access to Guru, use the .zip file Collection export which will allow you to import back into Guru at a later date if you change your mind. For an editing-friendly format, you can also use the Card Manager to export Cards in .csv format.
- Work with your finance team to pay any remaining Guru invoices in order to reach a balance of zero.
