Connecting Guru's MCP Server to ChatGPT
Set up Guru's MCP server integration with ChatGPT Desktop to bring your organization's knowledge into ChatGPT's interface

Connecting ChatGPT
- Open ChatGPT on the web.
- If you’re in a workspace (Business / Enterprise / Edu), have an admin enable Developer Mode for custom MCP connectors in the workspace setting.
- In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Apps
- Turn on Developer mode (you’ll only see this toggle if your plan/workspace allows it).
- Deploy Guru's MCP Server https://mcp.api.getguru.com/mcp
- Back in ChatGPT Settings → Apps, click Create.
- App Name: A user-friendly name for your connector.
- URL: The URL of your server
https://mcp.api.getguru.com/mcp - Description: Explain what the connector does.
- Image: An optional image for your connector.
- Enable and configure OAuth if needed, and check the I trust this application box. You'll see a prompt for a Client ID, but you don't need to enter anything.
- Click Save the app.
- Moving forward, those in that workspace can use the Guru app in ChatGPT by searching the apps in their workspace. They'll need to authenticate the first time they connect.
Start using Guru in your workflow
Once you're connected, your AI tool can:
- Ask questions about your internal documentation
- Search for specific topics across your knowledge base
- Create Cards directly in your workflow
- Integrate Guru's AI capabilities into your development or writing workflows
