Setting up a File Upload as a Source

You can upload files directly to Guru as a source for Answers. This lets you bring in important content that lives outside of integrations, making it searchable and usable for your team. Setting up a file upload source is quick and simple, perfect for proof of concepts or adding specific documents.

Guru Access: You need to be an Admin, Source Creator, or relevant custom role to set up Sources

Setting up your file upload source

  1. Go to Manage > Sources in the Guru web app.
  2. Select File Upload from the list of available source types.
  3. Enter a Name for your source to identify it.
  4. Optionally, add a Description to explain what this source contains.
  5. Select which Groups should have access to this source. Only members of these groups can use the uploaded files in Answers.
  6. Click Connect source.
  7. After connecting, open the File Upload source in your sources list.
  8. Select Add a file.
  9. Choose files from your computer to upload. Remember, each file must be under 50MB.
  10. Uploaded files will sync immediately and be available for Answers.
  11. You can open synced files in a new tab to view their content.
  12. To remove files, select the file and choose the remove option.
