Contribution Analytics
Using the Contribution analytics dashboard, you can identify which users in your workspace are creating the most content and what features teammates are using.
Note
All Analytics widgets will update every 1-2 hours with your team's information. Analytics data will go back to the date that the user started using Guru.
Accessing the Contribution analytics dashboard
Navigate to the Analytics in the web app and click on the Contribution tab.
Understanding Contribution reports
Below is a summary of each widget and the insights provided:
Top followed authors
- A horizontal bar chart displaying the workspace's authors with followers, sorted by the total number of followers (highest to lowest).
- To view all rows (i.e. all authors and their number of followers), download the report as a CSV.
Card creation by user
- A horizontal bar chart displaying the workspace's Card creators, sorted by the number of Cards created in the specified timeframe (highest to lowest).
- To view all rows (i.e. all authors and their number of Cards created), download the report as a CSV.
- With this report, you can see at a glance who your top contributors are.
Card actions by user
- A horizontal bar chart displaying the workspace's active users and their total actions within the specified timeframe (in no particular order).
- Actions include Card Views, Cards Created, Card Copies, Cards Verified, and Comments Created.
- Filter by "Group Name" to determine the most active users in your workspace.
- To view all rows (i.e. all users and their contributions), download the report as a CSV.
Tip
Think the number of actions for a particular user appears inflated? Try modifying the dashboard's "Source" filter. Is their username attributed to API activity? When working with the API, Guru's Zapier app, and Guru's Workato app, we recommend creating an API-only user to authenticate with to help attribute user activity to that one source, not a real user.
Feature usage by user
- A horizontal bar chart displaying users and the total number of actions performed in the specified timeframe (in no particular order).
- Actions include searches performed, Ask an Expert questions asked, Ask an Expert questions answered, Cards followed, and Cards favorited.
- Filter by "Group Name" to determine the most active users in your workspace.
- To view all rows (i.e. all users), download the report as a CSV.
Daily Active Users / Month Active Users
- An area chart displaying the workspace's monthly percentage of daily active users (DAU) divided by the number of monthly active users (MAU) in the specified timeframe.
- High-performing teams typically achieve 50% or greater.
Downloading and scheduling report delivery
You can easily download individual reports as CSV files or schedule the entire dashboard to be emailed to you on a recurring basis.
Tip
Admins and Collection owners can view a report of individual user activity by navigating to the Group and User Drill-Down dashboard.
