Setting up Guru's app for Microsoft Teams
The Guru app for Microsoft Teams brings your team's knowledge directly into your Office 365 workspace. Use Guru’s Answer with Card action to surface trusted information in your conversations without switching context. With notifications enabled, you can stay on top of key Guru activity—right within Teams.

Setting up the Guru app in Microsoft Teams
Part 1: Enable and install the Guru app
- Open Microsoft Teams in your browser or desktop app.
- Click the Apps icon on the left sidebar to open the app marketplace.
- Search for Guru.
- Click Open, then select Add to a team and choose the team or channel where you want to enable Guru.
- The Guru bot will post a welcome message in the team's General channel and DM you with a personal welcome.
Part 2: Authenticate and log in
- Click the Guru app icon below any message composer in Teams and select Settings.
- Click Sign in. A browser window will open prompting:
- A unique 6-digit code
- Guru account login (if not already signed in)
Tip
Can’t find the authentication window? It may be hidden behind your browser or the Teams app.
- Copy the 6-digit code from Guru and paste it back into the authentication prompt.
- Once verified, you’re fully connected and ready to search, share, and view Guru content within Teams.
