Only Admins (or users with a custom role that includes role management permissions) can create and manage custom roles.

Setting up the Author role to match legacy permissions

To replicate the previous Author role, we recommend enabling the following permissions in the custom role management page:

Under Collections, folders, and cards:

  • View content
  • Create Card Drafts
  • Create card drafts from existing cards
  • Publish cards
  • Archive cards
  • Delete cards
  • Manage card settings
  • Manage card permissions
  • Verify cards
  • Unverify cards
  • Comment on cards
  • Send card announcements
  • Manage tags and tag categories
  • Create folders
  • Delete folders
  • Manage folder settings
  • View author analytics

Under Pages:

  • View page
  • Edit page
