With Pins, Authors can make sure your team has relevant knowledge based on where they are in their workflow by surfacing a helpful Card on a commonly used website.
Several types of Cards are commonly pinned, and some ideas might include:
Information related to logging into or using a certain web app.
Stats and specs on a competitor.
Details about a new product.
Pinning a Card to a website
1. Navigate to the desired website or app you'd like to pin the Card to.
The Card will only be connected to that exact URL, so if the URL is dynamic and changes frequently, Knowledge Triggers may better suit your needs.
2. Open the Guru extension and find the Card you'd like to pin to the webpage.
3. In the top right corner of the Card, click the Share button. Under More Ways to Share, click 📌 Pin Card to page for all users. Now, this pinned Card will be automatically pushed to the user's attention for their consumption.
Pinned Cards in your workflow
When a Guru user has the Guru extension installed and visits a specific URL with a pinned Card, the Guru extension icon will display a yellow dot indicating there's important knowledge associated with the page. If the user has the Guru browser extension collapsed, the side tab representing the extension at the edge of the browser window will turn from black to yellow.
