Your Guru team = your Guru instance. Generally, companies will have everyone join one Guru team, then will use Collections and Groups to segment knowledge between different departments.

There are some rare cases where users are members of multiple Guru teams. Use these instructions to learn how to switch between 2 Guru teams.

Switching between SSO and non-SSO Guru teams

When SSO is enabled in one team you are using but not the other, the only teams you will be allowed to switch between are other teams that have SSO enabled as well.

One way to avoid this issue is to be invited to the team that does not use SSO with an alias email.

  • An Admin could invite the user to the non-SSO team with an alias, for example: firstnamelastname+teamname@getguru.com. Please note that not every email address provider allows for "+", so you should reach out to your IT team to understand your team's options for alias email addresses before proceeding.

After the user has been invited to the team with an alias email, they can proceed as follows:

  • Non-SSO team: The user can log into the non-SSO team now with their alias email/native password

  • SSO team: The user can continue logging in through their SSO provider to access the Guru team with SSO turned on
