Frequently asked questions about templates
Can I use templates to set a default verifier for all cards in a collection?
While Guru doesn't allow you to set collection-level default verifiers, Card Templates provide an effective workaround. When you create a template, you can assign a Default Verifier and Verification Interval that will automatically apply to every new card created from that template.
Best practices for verifier management using templates:
- Create collection-specific templates. Build templates tailored to specific collections (like "Finance Card Template") and set the Default Verifier to the appropriate group (like "Verifiers - Finance").
- Train your team to use templates. Encourage card creators to select the appropriate template for their collection to ensure consistent verifier assignment.
- Set up multiple templates per collection. Create different templates for different types of content within the same collection, each with appropriate verifiers assigned.
This approach ensures that when team members create cards using your Finance template, the verifier automatically defaults to your designated Finance verifiers group instead of the card creator.
