We're often confused for other platforms with similar names such as www.numberguru.com, the reverse phone lookup tool (contact here) or www.guru.com, the freelance talent service (contact here).

Only Guru Admins can cancel their team's Guru account.


We're sorry to see you go. If you're considering canceling your Guru service, here are a few things to know:

We like to manage our cancellations with a human touch. As such, you’ll need to request one through our support teams.

Please follow the instructions below, based on your team type. Teams with a current subscription will be asked to complete a very short survey. The cancellation process should be completed quickly provided your account information and balance are in order.

For teams created by accident

  • Please reach out to our team through chat. You can open the chat widget on the bottom right corner of this page, or, find Contact Guru Support under Help in the web app.

  • Select "I need to report Guru not working as expected" to get in touch with our Support Team to take care of that for you.

For teams currently in a Guru trial

  • Please reach out to our team through chat. You can open the chat widget on the bottom right corner of this page, or, find Contact Guru Support under Help in the web app.

  • Select "Choosing the right edition and other billing questions." To begin the process please provide your email address and company name.

  • Our team will follow up as soon as the cancellation is processed.

For Guru teams with an active subscription (no longer in a trial)

  • Please reach out to our team through chat. You can open the chat widget on the bottom right corner of this page, or, find Contact Guru Support under Help in the web app.

  • Select "Choosing the right edition and other billing questions." To begin the process please provide your email address and company name. You will then be asked to complete a short survey.

  • Our team will follow up as soon as the cancellation is processed.

  • See our Terms of Service for more on how early you need to notify our team in writing of your intent to cancel. Generally, this is done at least 30 days prior to renewal.


Once you get confirmation that your Guru team has been deleted, you and your teammates will no longer be able to access Guru. Per our Terms of Service, Guru keeps your team's data for 90 days post-cancellation. This 90-day period allows a buffer period if you decide to reactivate your Guru team. Guru cannot recover your team's data once deleted after the 90-day period.

Here are a few steps to follow to assure a smooth offboarding:

  • To export your content before losing access to Guru, use the .zip file Collection export which will allow you to import back into Guru at a later date if you change your mind. For an editing-friendly format, use the Card Manager to export Cards in .csv format.

  • Work with your Finance team to pay any remaining Guru invoices in order to reach a balance of zero.
