Setting up Gong as a Source
Guru’s Gong integration allows your team to use call recordings and summaries to power Answer generation. With Gong connected as a Source, Guru will surface insights from synced calls directly in responses to relevant questions—making your customer conversations a living source of knowledge.
Access Required
Guru Access: You must be a Workspace Admin in Guru to add and manage external sources.
Gong Access: You must have permission in Gong to authorize integrations via OAuth and access the Calls you wish to sync. Admin or Technical Admin roles are typically required to install the Gong API app.
Setting Up Gong as a Source
- In Guru, go to Manage.
- Click Sources and select Add Source.
- Choose Gong from the list of available integrations.
- Log into Gong and authorize access via OAuth.
- Select which Guru Groups should have access to this Source.
- Click Connect to finalize setup.
Note
Guru does not import Gong user permissions. Access must be assigned to the correct Guru Groups during setup.
Objects Synced from Gong
Guru syncs Gong content every 2 hours. Only synced call metadata and summaries are indexed.

Guru uses only summarized call content from Gong to power Answers—this content is not converted into Guru Cards or searchable directly.
Frequently asked questions about Gong
Does Guru sync all Gong recordings?
Guru syncs only calls that have summarization enabled and are accessible to the connected account.
Can I limit which calls are synced?
Not at this time. Guru syncs all accessible calls unless filtering is added at the Gong level.
Are private notes or comments included?
No. Only the summary of the call is indexed for Answer generation.
