Creating a new Favorite List and adding Cards

Method #1 - On a Card

  1. Click on the heart ❤️ icon in the top right corner of the Card.

  2. Select New List on the bottom left-hand side.

  3. Type a List Title (up to 25 characters) and click Save list.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the title of the new Favorite List and click Apply.


💡 Tip

You can add Cards to multiple Favorite Lists.


Method #2 - Using the extension, viewing an individual Card

  1. Open a Card in the Guru extension.

  2. Click on the heart ❤️ icon in the top right corner of the Card.

  3. Select New List on the bottom left-hand side.

  4. Type a List Title (up to 25 characters) and click Save list.

  5. Select the checkbox next to the title of the new Favorite List and click Apply.

Method #3 - Using the extension, viewing multiple Cards

  1. If you have more than one Card that you wish to favorite open in the extension tab window, click the ellipse to the right of the Card tabs.

  2. Select Save all tabs as a new list. You cannot add all tabbed Cards to an existing Favorite List in this method.

  3. Type a List Title (up to 25 characters) and click Save list.

  4. Select the checkbox next to the title of the new Favorite List and click Apply.

Method #4 - Create a new List using the extension, from the Favorites Menu

  1. Open the Guru Browser Extension.

  2. Select Favorites under the search bar to surface all your favorite Cards.

  3. Click the carrot next to the default My Favorite Cards.

  4. Select New List on the bottom left-hand side.

  5. Type a List Title (up to 25 characters) and click Save list.


💡 Tips

  • Use the keyboard shortcut control + alt + f for faster access to the Cards you follow. When using a Mac, replace alt with option.

  • From the My Favorites > Lists view, you will find the option to follow the Card, copy the Card's link, edit the Card (if you have permission), and generate a tracked link (where enabled) when hovering over the Card.


Frequently Asked Questions about Favorite Lists

How can I delete a Favorite List?

To delete a Favorite List, use the Guru extension.

  1. Open the Guru browser extension.

  2. In the Cards view, click the Favorites tab located under the search bar.

  3. Click on the carrot to open the drop-down of your Favorite Lists and select the Favorite List you wish to delete.

  4. On the right-hand side, click the ellipse and choose to Delete list.

How can I rename Favorite Lists?

To rename a Favorite List, use the Guru extension.

  1. Open the Guru browser extension.

  2. In the Cards view, click the Favorites tab located under the search bar.

  3. Click on the carrot to open the drop-down of your Favorite Lists and select the Favorite List you wish to rename.

  4. On the right-hand side, click the ellipse and choose to Edit List Name.


✍️ Note

The "My Favorite Cards" List serves as a default Favorite List and cannot be renamed or deleted.


Can I bulk open all my favorite Cards in a Favorite List at once?

Yes! In the Extension, click the Favorite tab and select the Favorite List you wish to open and display all Cards. On the right side, click on the box-arrow icon to Open all Cards. All Cards will appear tabbed in your extension view.

How is creating a Favorite List different than creating a Board?

We are glad you asked! Favorite Lists allow you to create personal lists of favorite Cards that live across ALL of your Collections and Boards in Guru. Your Favorite Lists are private. Favorite Cards cannot be shared with other users on your Guru team, but Boards can.

I am on the Starter edition of Guru, do I have access to create Favorite Lists?

All Guru users have the ability to Favorite Cards and Favorite Boards. These Cards and Boards are accessible in the default My Favorite Cards and My Favorite Boards within the Favorites dashboard in the Guru web app. Favorite Cards are accessible from the Favorites tab of the Guru extension.
