Embedding a Guru Card

With Guru’s embed feature, your team can augment their workflows by adding Guru content into other apps while keeping your knowledge updated in one single location.

How to Embed a Guru Card

  1. Navigate to the card you’d like to embed, either from the Guru extension or in the Guru web app.

  2. Click the ellipsis on the left menu bar of the card:

3. In that menu, you will see an option to grab the card’s embed code.

4. Copy this embed code.

5. Paste this embed code into your external app to add the Guru card.

FAQs about Embedding Guru Cards:

  • NOTE: An embedded Guru card has limited functionality:

    • At the top of the card, a user can click and see whether this content is trusted, and who the last verifier was.

    • Clicking the green “G” in the bottom right corner will open this card in the Guru web app.

  • If a user does not have access to a card in Guru, they will NOT be able to see that Guru Card content in an embedded view. Permissions in Guru carry over to the embedded card view.

  • If a user is logged out of Guru, they’ll see the following screen in the embedded card view:

  • You can adjust the size of the embedded card within its embed code by changing the values for “height” and “width.”

  • NOTE: You CANNOT embed Cards synced from external sources, such as Google Drive, Zendesk, Confluence, and more.

If you'd like to embed a Guru card into a Lessonly lesson, follow these instructions:

  1. Add a new text box.

  2. Click the HTML view on the far right of the text box.

  3. Paste the Guru card embed iframe code into the text box

  4. Edit the iframe code 'width' to read '100%'

  5. Complete the rest of your lesson and publish!
