Asking a Question
Roles: Read Only, Authors, Admins
Can't find the information that you need? Guru Q&A allows you to ask your question, select the expert or Group best suited to answer it, and then turns their response into a Card, enabling you and the rest of the team to access the answer again. Over time, it even learns from your questions and surfaces Cards accordingly.
How to Ask a Question
To open a question, click the question mark icon in the extension or web app.
Use the space to type your question, providing sufficient information for your team expert to easily understand and answer it.
Click on the 'Guru has found similar matches. Show me' prompt to ensure that the answer to your question isn’t already in Guru. This reduces the possibility of duplicate, confusing content!
Select the subject matter expert (or Group of experts) you would like to answer your question. Your options will include those users or Groups with Author privileges and access to a Collection that you do.
- It's best to chose someone with the specific knowledge to answer the question, or the Group who generally works with the topic. For example, API questions would go to the Engineering Experts Group or the specific back-end engineer.
- Click 'Ask!'.
- If the expert comments on the question asking for additional or clarifying information, you can respond by clicking 'View' in your Notifications queue and providing them with the necessary details in the field denoted 'add a comment'.
- Once the expert has answered, you will be notified via email or Slack notification. Access their answer anytime in the future by searching for the Card!
- You can view unanswered questions in your Notifications center or by clicking the 'Questions' tab in Card Manager.
