Asking a Question

Roles: Read Only, Authors, Collection Owners, Admins

Q&A allows you to ask an expert on your team a question and contribute to growing your team's knowledge base. ⚡️

Experts can create new Cards in response to questions, allowing you and your team to access the answer again. Over time, Q&A learns from your questions and surfaces recommended Cards accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

faq: how do i know the right person to ask my question?

Guru recommends choosing someone with the specific knowledge to answer the question, or the Group who generally works with the topic. For example, API questions would go to the Engineering Experts Group or the specific back-end engineer in charge of your team's API.

FAQ: Why am I still assigned to a Question even if I'm not the Expert? 🤔

When a user asks a Question using the 'Ask and Expert' feature, Guru will assign the original user who asked the Question and Expert as “followers” on the Question. All users involved will appear in all of the “followers” lists until a Question is answered. When you change an Expert, you are adding a new follower to the list. All followers will receive notifications when changes to questions are made.

FAQ: Why can I not view a question after it has been archived or Answered by my team?

If another team member archives or answers a Question in Guru, the Question will remain in your queue. However, you will not be able to view the content of the Question has it has been handled by someone else on your team.
